| I like visiting the base Exchange when on military property. There is even a small one at Shades of Green at Walt Disney World that is basically just the hotel gift shop. |

 Time for some hiking. Actually this was a bit messy. To get down to the edge of Eklutna Lake you have to walk through a lot of slippery muck. Not the first time on my trip that my shoes and jeans would be a mess. |

| On more solid ground, we hiked a bit along the Eklutna Lakeside Trail in Chugach State Park. We didn't do the whole thing, probably about a mile and a half each way. |

| It was getting late in the afternoon, but we took another little hike at the Eagle River Nature Center. This is one of my favorite pictures of the trip. |
