DOVER / KIEL CANAL

We leave Gatwick Airport to head to Dover.
Here is the Norwegian Dream docked at the Port of Dover.
The cabin. My bed was in that little love seat in the back. And notice the wonderful view of the lifeboat. On the plus side, if we were to ever wake up and not see the lifeboat we knew to panic.

A panoramic view of Dover. Notice some of the famous white cliffs on the right.

Dover Castle. From what I've read, there are tunnels beneath the castle and much of Dover. The Doverites or Doverish or Dovarians hid in these tunnels when the Nazis were attacking from the air in the Battle of Britain. After all, they were on the front lines.
The entrance to the Kiel Canal. There are a lot of Germans on the beach. Sixty years ago that would have scared the hell out of me.
I think this town is Brunsbüttel.
Germans flying kites.
This is how narrow the canal is. This was taken from the window of a motor coach on our way to Hamburg.
