FRIDAY
More Hollywood and Beverly Hills
*DUPLICATE PHOTO WARNING* The entrance to Mann's Chinese Theatre is easily recognizable. It is one of the two old historic theatres on Hollywood Boulevard that are still operating as working movie palaces. It is mostly known by tourists for the handprints and footprints in the courtyard.

Just down the street is the El Capitan theatre. It is the other old historic theatre (along with Mann's Chinese) still on Hollywood Boulevard. Disney bought it and runs it now.

The Roosevelt Hotel. It is old and famous. Marilyn Monroe lived here for a couple of years and the first Academy Awards banquet and ceremony were held here. Apparently is has come back in vogue with some young and famous Hollywood types.

I wanted to look in the window for Tom Cruise or John Travolta, but the building does not seem to be in use by that wacky cult anymore.

I suppose I could have taken a photo of Frederick's of Hollywood, but I opted for the cheesier Playmates of Hollywood.

Rodeo Drive. Lots of fancy and expensive shops line both sides of the street. Jewelry stores and clothing boutiques all over the place. I didn't see a Target store though.

A street in the Beverly Hills area. Nice houses. I don't think this is where all the really rich and famous people live, but maybe just the reasonably well-off and somewhat known.

A view of downtown Los Angeles from the freeway on the way back to Anaheim. The freeway doesn't look too bad here, but believe me it gets a lot worse.
