MONDAY - HONG KONG
HONG KONG DISNEYLAND
| Time for lunch at the Main Street Corner Cafe. |

| It was around 1:30 in the afternoon and the place was not very busy. |

| Lunch was delicious. I had penne with American meatballs (whatever that means) in a cream sauce. To drink I had a pink grapefruit Sprite with fruit and mint in it. |

| What character is more perfect for a balloon than Beymax? I watched Big Hero 6 on the flight over. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it. |

| Cast members were playing this little game with a kid. It was on a map of the park. |
![]() |
| The back of the Main Street Station. |
![]() |
| There is a little exhibit on the art of animation in the Opera House. |
![]() |
| A nice nod to the Florida park. |
![]() |
| There was a corner of the exhibit devoted to Tyrus Wong, a Chinese immigrant to the U.S. who was the lead artist on Bambi. He was inducted as a Disney Legend in 2001 and is still alive and kicking at the ripe old age of 104. |

| Inside the Art of Animation is one
of these things. It's a turntable with a lot of figures. Oh hell,
it's easier to just show you than to describe it. Click here for the video. It's a little herky-jerky looking because of the strobe light and the video frame rate, but I think you can still get the idea. |

| Even though lunch was quite filling I couldn't resist something sweet. You and I would call this a chocolate doughnut but in the Market House Bakery on Main Street it was called a chocolate circle bun. |

| Another band. |
![]() |
| I have been to Marceline, Missouri, Walt Disney's hometown, and I didn't see a hotel like this. |
![]() |
| Since this was such a small park I decided to actually watch the 3:00 parade. |
![]() |
| Three Chinese women made up as Western princesses. I don't know exactly what they do to their eyes, but that combined with light-colored makeup is fairly effective. |
![]() |
| I think this Tinker Bell was American. |
![]() |
| I knew there would be a Frozen meet and greet here. |
![]() |
| Tarzan's Treehouse with a Jungle River Cruise boat going past. |
![]() |
| Mmm, Korean squid. |
![]() |
| Main Street staples, the city hall and firehouse. |
![]() |
| The Emporium doesn't look good all covered up, but at least it was open. When I visited Tokyo Disneyland it was closed there. |
![]() |
| A less busy photo of the train station. |
![]() |
| Another small Chinese bird and a flower. |
![]() |
| The Hong Kong Disneyland version of the Tom Tom Club. |
![]() |
| An American Western band comprised of five Chinese people and one American. |
![]() |
| I didn't noticed the first time through that the benches in Toy Story Land were made of giant popsicle sticks. |
