Hong Kong is lousy with 7-Elevens. There were three within a hundred yards of the hotel. This is the one I went to most.
Back on the island because the weather was clearer. I think a front came through on Tuesday leading to nice weather and what seemed like lower humidity, so on Wednesday morning there was no fog on Victoria Peak.
On the way up to the Peak Tram station I walked through part of Hong Kong Park.
The tram was opened in 1926. It serves as both a tourist attraction and transportation. People live up on the Peak. There are several stops on the way.

The Peak Tower at the top has restaurants, shops and a Madame Tussauds. That's supposed to be Bruce Lee.
Sky Terrace 428 is on the top of the Peak Tower and offers some pretty great views of Hong Kong Island, the harbour and Kowloon, depending on fog and haze. There was no fog but it was a little hazy.
After looking around on the top of the Peak Tower I took a walk on the Peak Circle Walk.
There is a lot of park land on the Peak.
Lugard Falls was more like Lugard Dribbles. Maybe it had been turned off.
On the western part of the island is the residential area of Pok Fu Lam.
There are some nice residences on the Peak and some not as nice. This is one of the nice new ones.
It would be a nice place to live but hard to get to and from.
Hallelujah, the sun is out and the fog is gone! We can see the towers of Hong Kong, some boats in the harbour and a hazy Kowloon.
It might be that there is a permanent haze in Hong Kong but in things I have read they say that on clear days you can see quite a distance. On this day I can barely see past the buildings on the Kowloon side of the harbour.

The sign says "dog latrine". It could also say crap box.
I tried very hard to get a picture of this butterfly and this was the best one I managed to get. It's called a Great Mormon.
Finally a picture of the Peak Tower.
I was lucky enough to go to Hong Kong just after the implementation of a new law that says that stores must charge if the customer wants a plastic bag. I think it was fifty cents, which in U.S. currency would be about seven cents or so.
I'm glad I got there as early as I did. This was the crowd waiting for the tram when I got back down.
The Peak Tram is a funicular railway. This is one of the street trams. I never rode one. It's just as well. I'm probably too tall for them.
