PIKES PEAK
| I planned to get an early start as I had an entry time at Pikes Peak for 8:00 a.m. The night before I realize I forgot to pack an iPad charging cable so I stopped at a local Target on the way out of town. |

| It is actually a little amusement park. There was free admission that day for some reason but it was not open yet and I wasn't all that interested anyway. |

| The road goes all the way to the top, but as it was early there was ice that was being cleared beyond this point. Therefore I was unable to get to the summit. I couldn't really wait for them to eventually open up the rest of the road. |

![]() So the farthest I got was Devil's Playground and 16-Mile Turnout, elevation 12,780 feet. That's almost two and a half miles up. Yeah, the air was quite thin up here as well. |
