FRIDAY / SATURDAY - URAYASU
NARITA, URAYASU

Obligatory plane shot. These are all starting to look the same.
And another standard trip trope, the picture of the flight map. Here we are somewhere over southern Alaska.
After more than 14 hours in the air between Atlanta and Tokyo, we're finally on the ground at Narita. The first priority was getting cash from a 7-Eleven ATM. I screwed up though when I accidentally took out ¥50,000 instead of ¥5,000. That's the difference between about $45 and $450 dollars. But the plus side was that I didn't have to get cash for the rest of the trip.
It was raining when we arrived. Our friend, Lisa, was nice enough to pick us up at the airport. That saved us having to use a day on our JR passes.
Here we are in traffic.
The Stewarts put us up for the week in their apartment. This was their son William's room, which I got to stay in. Karen was in their daughter Isabelle's room across the hall.
In Japan, the toilet is in a separate room from the bathroom. Makes sense really.
This was one of those fancy Japanese toilets. Here is the control panel. I did try the bidet option once. Woo, that was one weird sensation. I'm not exactly sure what the massage setting does, but I didn't want to find out.
