DAY 4
Paris

*DUPLICATE PHOTO WARNING*

The Palais de Justice. I can't say anything more about it that I haven't said before.

*DUPLICATE PHOTO WARNING*

It's a police station. It looks the same as it did in 2005.

*DUPLICATE PHOTO WARNING*

Wow, three in a row! The sky is a lot clearer than last time though.

My new camera (I guess it's not that new anymore) has a better zoom than my previous one, so I could get better pictures of the gargoyles on the facade of the cathedral.

Of course while my zoom is fairly decent, my brother-in-law's camera could spot the pimples on the faces of these guys.

*DUPLICATE PHOTO WARNING*

It may be a duplicate, but it's definitely better.

I tried to take some different photos in the cathedral so that I didn't simply get the same things.
I didn't snap these windows last time. They are at the back of the building.
This is Notre Dame as seen from the bank of the Seine.
This is the Seine as seen from the bank of the Seine.
These people were filming something on this boat.
Walking from Notre Dame toward the Louvre we passed this tower, the Tour St.-Jacques. It was built in the first half of the 16th century. The church that went along with it was destroyed in 1797.
According to a Paris photo book my brother-in-law Mike got from the library, this is the Oratoire du Louvre, built in 1745 for the Congregation of the Oratorians.
Here we are at the Louvre. It is closed on Tuesdays, so we just walked around the outside of the palace.
The sun was starting to set, which made the orange light good for some photos.
Like this one.
Dinner at Le Royal. I had the Frenchest of French dishes, lasagne. The price for the meal wasn't too bad, but the beverage price was outrageous. A glass of Orangina was more than €4! That's where they get you.
The quarterfinals of the Coupe de France was going on this week and the match between Sedan and Guingamp was on in the restaurant.
*DUPLICATE PHOTO WARNING*

The last nighttime photo I took of the Tour Eiffel I did it freehand without anything to steady my hands. It is a miracle it came out fairly clear. This time I used a post to keep the camera still for prolonged exposure.

Click here for a video of the tower all lit up and sparkly.
