SAN JOSE
| The ultimate goal of the trip was to see Nashville SC play San Jose Earthquakes. |

| There was a very small museum room with some stuff in it. I am old enough to remember Krazy George and his time with the old San Jose Earthquakes of the original NASL. |

| The stadium is located very near the airport. Those are runways right over there. |

| There are these odd red seats behind one of the goals. I am sure that it is in tribute to the old Quakes from the 70's and 80's who wore red kits, but I have found nothing online that references them. |

| San Jose was not having a good season so far, having not won a match at that point. |

| And they didn't with this one either. Ordinarily a point on the road is a good result, but the fact that the Earthquakes were last in the Western Conference made the final score a little disappointing. |

| When I cancelled my reservation at the
hotel in Reno, I booked a room at the Sonesta near the San Jose
airport. The reason I didn't just stay at the hotel where I was is
because they did not have an airport shuttle and I needed to return
the car that afternoon because I had a very early flight Sunday
morning. When I returned the car, I had driven 2134 miles on the trip. |

| And here we come to an end, alone at an empty gate at 4:15 in the morning, listening to a Muzak version of Billy Joel's "Rosalinda's Eyes". |
