SCOTLAND DAYS 4 & 5

The main drag of Dunkeld. I know we stopped at Dunkeld last time we were here, but this time we got into the churchyard of the chapel in Little Dunkeld where my great grandfather was christened. It was locked last time. We didn't see the graves of any known relatives, but that may be because we didn't know them.

I really wanted to post this picture to show you my father's fine ass.

Ahoy, there! The RRS Discovery docked in Dundee.

The pedestrian zone in Dundee ends right there, so if you walk any further, watch your arse.

Statue of Bob (aka Robert the Bruce) outside of Stirling Castle.
The Wallace Monument on a hill outside Stirling. FREEDOM!!!!
The entrance to the inner areas of Stirling Castle.
The Great Hall. Those chairs at the far end are thrones. I don't know how old they are. They didn't really look ancient or anything. I was going to have my picture taken on the throne of Scotland, but a bunch of school kids had just gotten there first. Rather than wait forever for them to finish goofing around, I chose not to stick around for the cheesy snapshot.
The chapel in Stirling Castle. Both the roofs in this room and in the Great Hall are supposed to be good examples of some kind of old roof construction thingies. I should have paid more attention to the guide guy.
