MONDAY - HONG KONG
HONG KONG DISNEYLAND
| The entrance to Mystic Point, a small little land with basically one attraction. |
![]() |
| Even though there isn't too much in this section of the park, the theming is fantastic. This is the Explorer's Club Restaurant. |
![]() |
| And this is the centerpiece of Mystic Point, Mystic Manor. |
![]() |
| I noticed this portrait in the queue was of someone called Maestro D. Elfman. It turns out the Danny Elfman composed the score for the attraction. |
![]() |
| The idea for the attraction is that Mystic Manor is the home of Lord Henry Mystic, an explorer and collector of artifacts. |
![]() |
| The ride system is trackless. |
![]() |
| So the story is that Lord Mystic brought back from one of his travels a music box that might have some enchanted powers. His monkey companion, Albert, just can't leave it alone. |
![]() |
| The box has the ability to animate inanimate object, in this case all of the Lord's collection. |
![]() |
| Albert spends the entire ride escaping the perils of the box's magic. |
![]() |
| The effects in the attraction are magnificent. This is a giant tiki head spewing lava from its mouth. |
![]() |
| Eventually the box rips a hole in the wall of one of the rooms and Albert tries his best to get a hold of the box. |
![]() |
| He eventually does and everything is back to normal, just in time for Lord Mystic to show up and remind Albert not to touch the box. |
![]() |
| I think this might be part of the queue on very busy days. |
![]() |
| Next stop, Grizzly Gulch. |
![]() |
| Their version of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is called Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars. |
![]() |
| Kind of an odd thing. I went through the single rider line and ended up sitting next to this girl on the ride. Before the ride started she asked if I would take a selfie with her. I don't know, maybe she was on a scavenger hunt and one of the things she needed was a picture with an older white guy. |
![]() |
| The coaster is a bit of a combination of Big Thunder and Expedition Everest. This lift is a false hill climb. It gets near the top and then suddenly drops backward. |
![]() |
| A little Chinese bird. |
![]() |
| The entrance to Adventureland. |
![]() |
| I found this rather interesting. There are three queues for three different boats on the Jungle River Cruise, one for each of three languages: Cantonese, Mandarin and English. I got on the English boat. |
![]() |
| Although to be honest her English was a little hard to understand. |
![]() |
| This Jungle Cruise ride has FIRE! |
![]() |
| And bubbly water. |
![]() |
| The railroad was closed, which was disappointing, but at least every other attraction was open. |
![]() |
| Looks like a set for a Frozen meet and greet. |
