WAN
The old Supreme Court Building, built in 1912.

I guess not everyone is an expert in English spelling.

The Western Market was a stop on a self-guided walking tour I printed before I travelled.

Maybe back in the beginning of the 20th century it was an arcade with many little shops. Now it is more like a tiny shopping mall with some shops and a restaurant on the third level.

Be glad that I cannot share the smells of the trip. They are not all good. This is Des Voeux Street, aka Dried Seafood Street. From the smells you wouldn't need a sign to tell you that.

No pungent smells on Hollywood Road. This street is lined with antiques stores.

The Man Mo Temple, one of the oldest on the island, was build in 1847 during the Qing dynasty.

For the rest of the day I smelled like smoke. I noticed they burn a lot of things in these temples.

I am a fan of classic pin-up art. Apparently so were the Russians. I took this picture through the window of the Erarta Gallery which was showing an exhibition of Soviet pin-up art.

By around 3:15 in the afternoon I called it quits for the day. I was a little tired and couldn't think of anything else I wanted to do that day so I went back to the room. I watched a little Japanese baseball on television. The game between the Chunichi Dragons and Hiroshima Toyo Carp went into extra innings.

There was one thing I wanted to do at night, well two if you include getting something to eat for dinner. I researched if there were any British pubs in Hong Kong and found several. I chose The Trafalgar, which is on the fifth floor of a building.

It was okay. Not very pubby. I had a cottage pie which unfortunately had lots of peas and carrots in it.

Various vessels on the water. Click here for some video of A Symphony of Lights, if you have about three minutes to waste.

The clock tower lit up at night.
