ELKO

Looking for something to do in Elko, I visited the Northeastern Nevada Museum.
There were mastodon bones found in Elko, County.
Bing Crosby owned several ranches in northeast Nevada. He was named honorary mayor of Elko in 1948. These are two tuxedo jackets made by the Levi Strauss Company for Bing and Elko mayor David Dotta in 1951.
This harmonica is well made and carefully inspected, but it will give you good service only if you take responsible care of it.

Please do not play it immediately after eating. Particles of food, however small, will lodge on the reeds and spoil the tone. When you have finished playing, always tap the mouthpiece on the palm of your hand, thus shaking out as much moisture as possible. A large quantity of saliva left in the instrument will corrode the brass plates and reeds. This also will interfere with the vibration of the reeds thus spoiling the tone.

Cultivate this habit of the so-called "DRY" method od playing, which professionals use.
Old newspaper printing stuff.
I have a small pyrite rock somewhere. This is much larger.
It's not the size of the organ that matter, it's how you play it.
A craps table from the old Ranchinn Casino.
Nevada's largest collection of wild animals from around the world is on display in the Wanamaker Wing.
BUFF: Hey, Henry! What's holding ya up? Let's get on with the show! We can't hang around here all day.

MAX: Now, Buff, be patient. It takes a little doing to set these things up.

MELVIN: Yeah, we ain't going anywhere anyhow. We're kind of hung up here!
The sequel to this book is called Uncle Bill is Accused of Inappropriate Touching.
This small building was originally located sixty miles to the south, where it served the Pony Express from April 1860 to 1861.
I had seen references to the Humboldt River on maps of the California Trail. I kind of expected it to be more impressive than this. Maybe there is more to it in different locations.
Lodging for the night, Shutters Hotel.
It seems like a fairly new place.
Not much open for dinner in Elko on a Sunday. I had the Nevada Hard Hat, a roast beef sandwich with Swiss cheese, tomato and green chili on grilled sourdough. Quite good.
