LONDON DAY 1

I was really trying to offer an idea of how much leg room we had in Business Class, but I also got the old people in the picture as well. Look at them smiling and all. They think I'm taking their picture.
Ooh, free champagne! That little monitor is where the in-flight entertainment was shown.
This is the street where Cathy lived. Her flat was one of the ones with the red door. Chiswick is a nice little area of town. Lots of shops and pubs on the high street. I could live there.
The view out the bathroom window of Cathy's flat. Those Brits just love their gardens. They could have ten square feet of space behind their houses and they would fill it with flowers and weeds and call it a garden. Then all they would have to do is wait for the Ground Force folks to show up and make it nice.
The first stop of our London venture was Leicester Square. (For you Yanks, that's pronounced Lester.) There is a park, several theatres, both live and cinema, clubs and cafes.
At Piccadilly Circus they were having a bit of a street fair. Hmm, a fair at the Circus. Seems appropriate. Actually all of Regent Street from Piccadilly to Oxford Street was closed off. Anyway, there was this Miami Trip carnival ride. Is this what they think Miami is, beautiful tanned white women with big jugs in bikinis? Where are the air-brushed pictures of the Cubans, the Haitians, the retired New York Jews?
See that bald black man on stage? That's Ainsley Harriott, the flamboyant television chef and host of Ready Steady Cook and Can't Cook, Won't Cook. I forget what the ceremony was for, but the Lord Mayor of London was there. Can you see him? He's behind Ainsley.
Wheel in the sky keeps on turning. I don't know where I'll be tomorrow. Here is the London Eye, aka Millennium Wheel. I would imagine that some think it's an eyesore on the Thames, but it is a popular tourist attraction. It was a bit cloudy this day, but when we went on the thing the next day, it was mostly sunny.

* Note to visitors: There will be numerous music references like the one above in the pages ahead. Please try to keep up. If you do not understand some of them, please raise your hand and I will try to help you.
